France / Loire Valley / Touraine

After completing his oenological studies in 1990, XAVIER FRISSANT started with 12 acres of vineyard in the southern LOIRE VALLEY.  Today, XAVIER and ISABELLE FRISSANT own 54 acres planted on terroirs ranging from silica-clay to sandy limestone soils, with part of the vineyards on hillsides overlooking the Loire River.

The Vineyard

At harvest, the grapes are de-stemmed and then gently pressed pneumatically. The wine is aged on fine lees in stainless steel tanks until bottling in March, providing the classic Loire character of freshness, coupled with citrus aromas and minerality in the mouth.

The Winemaking Philosophy

“With the many different soil types found in the Loire Valley, it takes a dedicated vigneron to deliver the finest expression of his wines. I have developed a passion for the practice of sustainable farming, including natural grass planting, hand harvesting and certification by Terra Vitis, the French body that guarantees complete transparency in its goal of environmental preservation" - Xavier FRISSANT
