Producer Alain Aubert stands at a staggering 6’ 3” tall with impressive hands, and an infectious smile. When you first meet, he will ask, “What do you know about wine?” If you answer, “Not much.” He’ll smile and say, “Good, we will understand each other.” Then for the next few hours, he will explain to you the importance of cultivating grapes on the right piece of land. “Treat them well,” he says, “and the harvest will be the result of the expression of each variety in balance with its respective terroir.”
