After fermentation the wine matures on the
lees but does not go through malolactic
fermentation.
The Cherrier family, better known for their Sancerre wine, have been producing wines in that region since 1848. The current-day owners of Domaine du Loriot, Francois and Jean-Marie Cherrier, studied in Burgundy and returned to the family property in the early 1980s. In 1985, the winery was updated and vineyards were added to the estate.
