Rhône Valley
The Rhône Valley, situated in the southeastern part of France, is an area drenched in history. As far back as known sources will go, viticulture is said to have arrived in the region in the 4th century BCE via the Greeks, but then cultivated and established by the Romans. Divided into the Northern and Southern Rhône, the smaller northern sub-region is the birthplace of the savory Syrah and produces primarily red wines of that grape varietal. The southern sub-region on the other hand, produces an array of red, white, and rosés, but is most known for the blended Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
